Authorities in Greater Sudbury are investigating a tragic incident in which a six-year-old girl died after being struck by a vehicle in the Minnow Lake area. The Greater Sudbury Police Service confirmed the fatal collision occurred at a co-operative housing complex shortly after the end of the school day.
According to police, the incident took place at the Palace Place Co-Op, where school bus drop-offs were underway and families were present in the area. Witnesses reported that the collision happened in front of multiple parents and children shortly before 3:30 p.m., causing immediate panic and distress among those who saw the event unfold.
Emergency responders were called to the scene quickly following the incident. Despite efforts to assist, police confirmed that the young child, who was on foot at the time and not inside a vehicle, later succumbed to her injuries.
